Robin's Testimony (Robin is now a admin in my private facebook group!!)

I feel so blessed to walk this journey with like-minded old friends and now some new!  Cynthia has asked me to write my testimony and in doing so, I hope you all will see I have not “arrived” but maybe have walked this journey a little longer than some.  My desire is to continue to learn, improve and be an encouragement to each of you as you travel this path.

A year ago, my husband and I traveled to DC with my daughter and her husband.  As we all enjoyed looking at all the pictures we had taken, I was taken aback at how I looked in them.  I was 6 months recovered from my 2nd total knee replacement and knew I had put on 30 extra pounds during recovery to the 40 extra I already had on me. I was heading towards high blood pressure and diabetes.  My numbers proved it plus my BMI was one point away from being morbidly obese!  My eating was completely out of control giving in to all the cravings and desires while brushing aside caution and control. I knew something had to change.

I tried just cutting back on amounts of food which did not last but a couple of days.  I felt I could not do it on my own, so I sought my PCP’s help.  He started me on Zepbound which truly did help with hunger and cravings.  I knew this wasn’t going to be enough, though.  Maybe I could lose weight, but I knew if I did not change my mindsets

and habits, I would gain it all back.

The Lord brought Cynthia into my life at exactly His right timing.  Even though I am an RN, I have never really studied or understood much about nutrition.  I jumped into her first private group offering and have been going strong since.  Education, support, prayer, and accountability are making all the difference.  I truly believe this can be life-long now without the need for weight loss meds.  I am finished with Zepbound and still losing weight by eating balanced meals and exercising.  I feel great and have more energy in my 60’s than I did in my 40’s! My desire is to continue to lose 15-20 lbs. more and then maintain it.  But more importantly than that, I desire to truly trust this body to God and make it the best it can be for what time I have left on this earth to serve Him.

You will never regret putting your health into His hands and seeing Him bless it for His glory!

I hope I can be an encouragement to each of you (in our private facebook group).

Cheering you on,

Robin
